Is this country going to the dogs, literally ?

"Talking about visitors, recently four people came to meet Najib and Rosmah came out to interrogate them as to whether they were there to talk about politics or business. When one of them asked what the difference was, Rosmah replied that if they wanted to talk about politics then they can meet Najib, but if it was about business then they should talk to her instead. The appalled visitors then remembered one Ministry of Defence meeting that was chaired by Rosmah while Najib just sat there quietly as Rosmah took the chair as the de facto Defence Minister. Rafidah Aziz actually raised this matter at one Cabinet meeting and asked whether Najib or Rosmah is the Defence Minister."

Note : Rosmah is Najib's wife (Deputy Prime Minister), has no place in the Government nor the Cabinet. Full article here.

Oh Hell Yes.

Where is Benjamin Franklin, George Washington of Malaysia. Oh I see he went to Singapore some 40 years ago.

We can't change the system but we can choose to leave.

I know exactly how to make Malaysia a developed country. The first most important step is Freedom of religion. And I'm 120% sure you can't do it here/there, and there you go.

If we all choose to leave who will make Malaysia home? You may be Chinese or Indian, do you hve any less of a claim on Malaysia?

If you think, yes, then you're an IDIOT who allows himself to be manipulated by the Malays.

Listen up. This is MY country, where my forebearers set foot, and no freaking way in hell am I going to surrender without a fight.

It's a beautiful country, great lakes, beaches, mountains. Interesting culture and a mix of it. Heck, sometimes I lean back nd watch my friends chat animatedly and realise that we're all of different races and yet there's so much we have in common!

Why should we let go of that so easily? We should claim what is OURS.

Elections coming up, freaks. At least split the votes - no more Big Nougat.

crankshaft, you need to read a lot of books. The first book I'll recommend you is

The Wealth of Nations - Adam Smith

By the way, it's in English, no Malay edition. Then, you'll understand why developing country will always be developing country.

Crankster said...

And I suppose the developed countries skipped the 'developing' part?

Please!

Apathy gets you nowhere, my friend.

Thousands of Malaysians have done what you suggest. The just leave. They abandon what is rightfully theirs.

I have read The Wealth of Nations. However it does not apply to the Malaysian context.

Exactly people like you and this is the reason why Malaysia is a dump and will always be a dump

Why you should leave Malaysia?

1. It's a bad country now and possibly forever.

2. You do not want your next generation waste anytime of their life to study Malayu - one of the MOST USELESS language that
can be use ONLY in stupid Malaysia

3. You do not want your daughter and son get 9 A's and can't go to the university because of 'RELIGION' (you are muslim you are bumi)

4. You don't want your daughter and son use THREE YEARS of their salary (about RM 24K/Year about US$7000.00/Year) to buy a 'national' car (Japanese second rated engine assembled in Malaysia, terrible workmanship) that is 3 times worst that a Honda Civic. That's 3 years of your son's LIFE, think about it. I bought a Camry 2006 model for US$30K and for a fresh graduate in states it's about 6 months salary

5. You do not want your son when buying a house be asked : Are you bumi? Bumi have discount, if you are muslim you are bumi.

6. If you married a foreigner and he/she is not muslim you'll need to get a resident visa for 5 years and he/she can't work but if he/she is muslim that's easy...

7. Again, it's a terrible country now and possibly forever.

Because all developed country like Singapore, US, NZ, AU and others

1. Create a (good) political system
2. Law and Order
3. Economy
4. Prosperous
5. Art and culture

Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Saudi, Syria...

1. Bad political system in the very begining (Malaysia PM for 40+ years, my gosh... Indonesia - bad start, Pakistan - bad start, ....)
2. Corruption because of 1.
3. Confusing Law and Order, so they can continue to do 2.
4. Use religion to control people, so they can continue to do 2.
5. Because of 4. they create a bunch of zombie that can't tell right from wrong
6. Forever poor country

What on earth are you babbling about?? Malaysia is a dump because I continue to live here? And if I leave, it will become better?

You are letting your emotions interfere with your logic. Why don't you think before you speak? I know it must be hard for you but possibly you could try?

If you just left without doing anything for the country, then you are NO patriot - don't ever come back when things are good one day.

When the new country you adopt decides to kick you out and when you get sick of a new culture, don't think of what being Malaysian means to you.

You're just a wimp who finds it easy to run away from the problem without finding a solution.

Tell me, have you voted? Have you urged your friends to vote against the stupid party which has been ruling us for eternity?

What have you done? Tell me.

Do you honestly think that other countries out there are better? I have been to more than 10 countries in my life and home is still home.

I appreciate efforts like stupidmalaysia to show up the stupidity of the government. Because it is probably the most idiotic establishment known to mankind.

Unsheathing of keris and the like is not politics - it is apelike behaviour. Those fools need to be in prison, not the parliament.

Leaving the country for good is unpatriotic?

Where you think about those Chinese settled in Malaysia come from? What about those European settled in USA and all the migrant in all over the world that had settled in a better countries? they are all unpatriotic if using this phrase as a measurement.

Human move to places that provide food and safety there is nothing wrong with that.

It's too bad when we born in a bad country you basically have no choice cause your parent live there. But when you grow up and you found out your country is bad, you can do 2 things

1. Change it
2. Leave it

Some people choose to change it, Lim Kit Siong, his son and others, you need to sacrifice yourself and probably your next generation and I respect they take on the mission impossible. And some people like me choose to 'leave it' because I think it make sense for a lot of people especially non-Malay. The stupid Malaysia never consider us non-Malay as citizen, why should we consider her as my country.

To change Malaysia first you need to get rid of religion in government, race and religion are the tools that Malaysia government use to control ppl. Malaysia is probably the only country in the world that put RACISM and Religion Discrimination IN THE LAW. Talk about bad country.

All Muslims go nuts when you tell them you CAN convert or even become atheist, they don't know that is his/her right to believe in something else, but the current authority will make VERY sure this do not happen since it will jeapodize the structure for them to continue manipulate for their own benefit - this is the opposite of 'invisible hand' Adam Smith talk about. It's the same thing as communism happen in China, NK & Cuba.

1. Bad system
2. Corruption
3. bureaucracy
4. Waste of resouces (Human Capital & Natural Resouce capital)
5. Backward society

Ask people flee from China in 1940s and North Korean in all around the world, patriotism? my foot.

Crankster said...

Well, all those who moved away are unpatriotic indeed, regardless of whether they're Irish, Cuban, Chinese, or Indian.

Of course, if they were being killed or overpopulated, it's a different story. You don't have a choice.

We haven't got to that stage. We still have voting rights. And if we can convince some of our more stupid brethren, we can get rid of the present government and slowly form a decent one.

In the case of the above races I mentioned, they left in droves and settled in communities. They were merely transplanted.

Today, if Malaysians were to leave, we cannot seek refugee status, it's each to your own. One set of cousins in Australia, another in the UK, and yet another in the US.

You're losing contact with your family members just like that. It's exactly what happened to my family. I never see them anymore.

It's very sad.

Patriotism is a state of mind.

It's a state of mind in which you acknowledge that you and your loved ones' well-being are being cared for. It's then one would feel and internal welling-up feeling of being patriotic (looking up towards a 'patron')

It is a natural state of gratitude that one feels. In which ones values resonates and are aligned with the nation.

However, when one is constantly hungry, battered, possesions taken away, children victimised. There is no feeling of patriotism, there is nothing to look up to, there is no patron.

Ask any Bosnian Muslim, were they patriotic towards Slobodan Milosevic? Jewish Germans, were they patriotic for Adolf Hitler ?

Ask the Chinese who nearly starved to death during the Cultural Revolution; given a choice, would they be patriotic or would they eat ?

I for one value, meritocracy, rule of law, respect for human dignity, multiracialism above all else.

To be blindly patriotic when these values I hold so sacred are constantly trampled upon is tantamount to nothing but living below what I am entitled to in my physical existence.

To answer Crankshaft, "If we all choose to leave who will make Malaysia home"

My answer would be :
It will be those who hold the following ideals who will be most patriotic to Malaysia then, as it resonates with their inner wanting.

- creation of a homogenous Muslim society
- those with a xenophobic outlook
- those who who have no respect to the rule of law, as they benefit from unlawfulness.

For the German, Austrian, Polish and even Hungarian Jews, the political situation in their country and in Europe made it impossible to continue to survive.

Like I said, if they were being killed (as in the case of the Jews and Bosnians) or overpopulated (as in the case of the Chinese and Indians), it's a different story.

I don't know what your idea of patriotism is. Mine is to the country, not the ruling party.

BN is just the Malaysian version of the Nazis. They are shamefully pathetic, wicked and just pure evil.

Patriotism to BN would be tantamount to treason. It's betraying your ideals and your own freedom.

Patriotism to me, is to urge your friends and family to VOTE. To awaken the stupid Malaysians that they CAN make a difference before it's too late.
