Rashid Abdul Rahman, chairman of the Election Commision of Malaysia is the biggest liar
Not only did he not fulfill his constitutionally enshrined duties to ensure a free and fair elections. In a Malaysiakini exclusive today, he admitted that it was after all the incumbent government decision to cancel the use of indellible ink and not only did he went along with it, he agreed to be the fall guy.
Of course the rest is history and the Opposition (Pakatan Rakyat/People's Alliance) totally rousted Barisan Nasional's 50-year old grip in Malaysian politics.
Of course his pants is on fire now.
“I was told that I was to take the responsibility for agreeing to it. It's not easy being EC chairperson. I took the whole rap over the year,” Rashid told reporters after a function today.

Of course he can't take the close scrutiny and of course I don't doubt a person of his weak and manipulable stature can ever will.
As far as I am concerned, he's nothing but UMNO's lackey.
His life would have been a bed of roses if BN would have retained the 2/3 majority.
He would retire this year (after the freaking amendment to the constitution to allow this one man to serve an extra year, he was scheduled to retire this year, 2008), maybe pocketed some millions, set up a small business enterprise and continue reaping a few millions a year with tiny scrappy contracts to supply cakes, chairs and tables to UMNO's tea parties.
It is too bad that it was not meant to be, and he has now come crying out in the open that he was not the bad guy after all.
Well guess what, you had a public office and you were to serve the public.
Shame on you for serving the political masters and for that you have neglected and failed in the most important part of your job.

I agree with pokokmangga. I am so ashame too. How to tell people we are Malaysians? PM lied big time. Election Commissioner lied big time. Govt send our children to die in NS. Is there a future for Malaysia? Politicians rob and steal people's land. Police acts as the Raja of Malaysia. Minister's wife shouted at Royalty. Triple stds in application of law (one for UMNO, one for the rich and one for the poor). It is even a crime to hold lighted candles in public place. Someone please save Malaysia.
Now he has made a voluntary confession that the election commision is not and independent body but under the thumb of the goverment of the day, that stinks ,he has betrayed the nation to hold free and fair elections , The BN is holding unto power by illegal means, they would not have got even the simple majority if elections had been free and fair
Now that the truth is already out there, can we throw him behind bars now, immediately after we put him in court and allow all the dirty linen be washed out in the open?

The evergreen Bulbir Singh wrote in The Star today that Mahathir is “an upright and smart man”. Hasn’t old Bulbir been reading the news lately? I wonder whether he reads Malaysiakini or any of the Blogs.
I just can’t understand this guy Bulbir. Doesn’t he realize that his views of wisdom is actually been spun by the BN/Umno spin doctors of the MSM to make it look like what Bulbir says represents the views of the so-called silent majority?
How can he call someone like Mahathir as “upright and smart’? The sad thing about all this is that there are people like Bulbir out there who have been voting for donkey years for a corrupt regime like the BN/Umno regime to power. People like Bulbir live in a Utopian world where the BN/Umno regime is mandated by Heaven to rule. He does not see the evil that we see in BN/Umno and its’ leaders.
Bulbir will be quick to condemn anyone who opposes the BN/Umno regime. Dear Bulbir, for someone who is in his twilight years, please open your eyes and stop allowing yourself to be used as a propaganda tool by the BN/Umno controlled MSM. The person you praised as “upright and smart” actually believes he is living in 1969 by playing the race card to instill fear in the Malays. Mahathir is instigating the Malays that they are loosing their power and rights to the non-Malays. Is this what you call an “upright and smart person” dear old Bulbir?
If there is anyone out there who is reading this and knows how to get in touch of Bulbir Singh, please enlighten the old fool lest he wants to be cursed by 27 million Malaysians. Bulbir, what you need in your old age is prayers not curses. Please stop this crap and go spend quality time with your grandchildren.
How low can one get? He's a living answer to all of us. He lied to all Malaysian and we can do nothing. How can he be scot free after all he did. Justice only applies to all except for a chosen few. He is one of them. I pray to God Almighty that he be punished during his lifetime. If ever you want to go on a crash diet, he is the answer. Look at his photo everytime you feel hungry, I guarantee that you will have no appetite whatsoever to eat.
